Remodeling a 2015 27 FB
I have owned my 27 FB Serenity for approximately 3 years. I continue to look at newer models, different lengths, etc based on different camping experiences. I am now at the point that instead of buying something new, I would rather remodel the one so that I have to exactly what I want. I would like to have two recliners in place of the current dinette. In addition, I would like to relocate the dinette to the area across from the galley. Has anyone remodeled a 27 FB in this fashion. I would like to take it Jackson Center for the remodeling work.

The furnace located street side under the dinette seat is a complication.

Yes the furnace is issue here. Here is what we did. Cabinet across from the galley on the existing couch structure and one recliner. The furnace was left in the original location.

Thanks Kelvin! That is exactly what I would like to do. The counter area that you added is similar to the bar area in the new Tommy Bahama's. Question. Are you able to take the dinette table down for travel? If so, where are you storing it?

Hi
Do you really need / how do you use the dinette? Would an alternative surface work equally well (or better)? If so, that opens up a *lot* of options. Yes, it depends a lot on how many people you have and how you like to do things.
One place to store a removable table is under the bed. That's how they do it on the Tommy Bahama.

My remodel:
1. Oak table bought on craigslist for $25, cut down, & finished.
2. Two recliners bought on Amazon for $85 each.
Airstream table, benches, & cushions now stored.
See photo.

On Eddie Bauer like we have (and probably on other hatch models) the dinette table top stows on felt-lined rails mounted on the underside of the plywood for the bed (which is hinged to access the under-bed storage) and the posts stow in the wardrobe in mounts that are there for the purpose.

Regentum, that is gorgeous. Did you have to do anything to the furnace?

This table is similar to what we are thinking of doing. Can you tell me if it is attached to the wall, and if so, how did you do that?
Thanks!

Pat,
I don't know what your time frame is but we are doing a remod at Airstream in September. PM me and I'll update you with our remodel as we go.

1. When I took out the table & bench, that involved removing the flexible tubing coming out of the propane heater, but I didn't do anything to the heater itself. The heater vent now exhausts directly out of the heater into the front of the trailer.
2. The end of the oak table is connected to the aluminum sheet on the front of the trailer. I screwed a piece of holed angle iron to the underside of the end of the table, positioned & centered the table up against the vertical aluminum sheet on the interior front of the trailer (more or less where the AS desk had been), and screwed the angle iron into the aluminum.
See very dark photo attached. The bottom half is the aluminum sheet. The top half is the underside of the table. The strip in the middle is the holed angle iron (from Home Depot). Practically speaking, the oak table is very firmly attached & does not jiggle when pushed (unlike the AS desk that I removed).
