twins beds

We got a king size from Costco and cut it half, you will have a little left over but works great. Make a paper template for ease of cutting it.

We got a king size before and cut it down but need more foam. I am camping right now and did not want to mess with cutting it. Looks like it takes about 3 inches of foam to be comfortable. We started with 1.5" foam. I have back problems and normally a hard bed is a good thing but too hard and it puts more stress on my lower back, probably because my hips are higher than my torso.

Bought a "Spa Sensations" 6" memory foam mattress from Walmart ~ $129 (in March) for a full sz - it is WONDERFUL! Opened up the covering and trimmed corners to fit 55 AS with electric bread knife and whipped the covering back together.

We also bought a King size 3 inch Novaform mattress topper from Costco and cut it down to fit the two twin beds in our 2015 FC (34 inches X 78 inches). Cutting the King Size topper down to fit with an electric carving knife worked well and was relatively easy to do. The mattress cover that came on our twin beds is deep enough to cover the mattress and the 3 inch Novaform topper. It helps hold the topper in place on the mattress. The problem is that with the added 3 inches in height our Airstream bed spreads don't hang down far enough to totally cover the side of mattress. If anyone knows where we can get bed spreads that will fit the unusual twin bed size (34 X 78) and that will hang down far enough to cover the outside edge of the mattress please let me know.

Memory Foam Topper

I just added memory foam to the twin mattresses in our '64 Overlander. The dimensions probably aren't relevant to you BUT I ordered it from Overstock.com. It was much much cheaper than anywhere else. So you might check that out. :-)

We bought made to measure 7" extra firm foam from a foam manufacturer and then cut the curve ourselves with a knife. Then covered with a mattress pad from AB Lifestyles. Combined total for two $450. Very comfortable.

Twin bed size

We did the same, bought the blue gel foam topper at costco & cut to fit. Made a template with paper first & used marker to draw the outline. We also used the smaller leftover pieces at foot of bed; it tucks inside the topper cover nicely. We bought 2 twins. VERY COMFORTABLE.

Also bought a double to use on sofa bed when needed; makes it much more comfortable. We store it down in behind the sofa when not in use.

I can check the size tomorrow but maybe you now have that info.

I purchased twin duvet covers from ikea; the recent flyer may 4-25 has 15% off. They fit fine with lots of overhang i do not put duvet inside, just to awkard to do. Use them as a cover only. The ones i bought are shown on this flyer front cover-white or biege/taupe colour.
