platform bed

Is there a thread or has anyone built a platform bed with a twin or queen where pistons allow the bed to lift and storage below? Thanks

I'm not sure I (we) understand the question since, as far as I know, all Airstream beds with under bed storage have gas pistons to help lift them and keep them lifted until pushed down.

Redoing a Tradewind from scratch. My wife and I thought of it last night. Not aware that it is a stock item at present. Live and learn! Thanks

I'd encourage you to look at some modern Airstreams before you get too far with your renovation. You might pick up a lot of interesting ideas.

If you have a dealer nearby, that would work. Otherwise, try going to a rally and asking people about their trailers (what works and what doesn't.) You could also join your local WBCCI chapter and meet fellow Airstreamers that way. Believe me, Airstreamers are generally a friendly bunch and if you ask them a question about their trailer, they will talk your head off!
