parts available

I was cruising some sites and found cherokee rv salvage in denver co.They had posted that they had just gotten in 2 vintage airstreams and were ready to part them out. They did not list the years. They had several pictures of parts that they had so it would be worth an email to find out what they had.Good luck

Parts

Hi joel -thanks for the information. I have a 54 cruiser and am just starting to renovate a few things. Looking for a birch door for the bathroom and a gaucho sofa for the front room. Thanks Wade

I just called Cherokee RV and the two salvage models they just got are from the 70s. So all of us 50s and 60s folks are out of luck for now. I'm still going to put together a wish list for them to review.

Thanks for the info. I had never heard of them, but they are in the phonebook/yellow pages (Local #303-295-3433 Toll free #1-877-291-3433).

Their website is as follows for AS: AIRSTREAM PARTS

I need some stuff for my '73 Sovereign, so I think I will measure and call.

Howdy, Eric. Yes it is. Thanks for asking.

We moved to Georgia, and expanded our "family": Sue's mom and sister now live with us. Also, we added (rescued) Gus, a 1-1/2 year-old Bassett hound to be with Buffett, our Golden Retriever.

We also added a '73 31' Sovereign as a project . When all four adults and both dogs were camping at the North Georgia fall leaf thing, we were too crowded. On the way home, Sue and I discussed what we would like in a replacement trailer (and selling our 24' '61 Tradewind) after seeing and touring an '84 31' rear-bath trailer in an RV sales lot. We decided that a center bath was highly desirable, especially when 4 adults are camping. That way, the back bedroom remains isolated from traffic to and from the toilet. The 31' has more storage and closet space which we liked, so I started looking for a low cost 31' with center bath. As luck would have it, I found one advertised about an hour or so after the seller posted it on Airstreamer.com, called and ended up buying it. It does need work though, like the missing screen door, the rotted floor around the entire rear and some of the kitchen and entryway. The exterior 12v lights don't work and sockets are rusted solid (towed it home from FLA using temp lights with long wires). It was sitting in a field unattended for several years.

Why don't you come down to Florida Jan 5-8 for the 2007 Florida Can Opener Airstream Rally? I think there are about 63 AS booked into Topsail Hill Park (http://www.floridastateparks.org/topsailhill/default.cfm). Well, maybe the North Georgia Rally in April? Are you going to Florida anytime, where you might consider stopping by in Ellijay GA for a visit? Or maybe we could just meet you on the way somewhere... Whatever happened to your Impala<?> and Bambi?

Regarding this thread, I emailed the salvage place and he said he thought he did have a screen door, and it might be on ebay soon. So other stuff may also go there for the 70's AS's he is parting out. Good luck to anyone who needs stuff like that.

The south isn't in the cards for us this time of year. The '07 is pretty much planned, but who know in '08.

The Impala is still in the stable. Traded the Bambi for a 25' Safari ('04) and did one trip towing the Safari with the Impala. Power to boot, but not real fun in crosswinds. So, the Imp is my daily driver and I bought a 2004 Suburban at the end of '04 at the year end sell off. Not too big of a market for 3/4 tonners so it was an easy transaction. Tows REAL good.

Maybe you might be able to come up to the midwest rally in June. We're still torn if we'd do Lake of the Ozarks afterward or not.

I emailed, and they replied. I sent back some measurements for a screen door I need, and we'll see...
