Painting Tambour?

Well I have undertaken the painting of our vinyl interior and am thinking about hitting the front tambours with Rustoleums silver metallic spray paint. They look like they are vinyl coated now. Has anyone successfully painted their tambours? Rustoleums "universal" paints look like they are designed for vinyl as well. I would probably still prime before the final spray...just to be sure. The other odd thing (and maybe not odd) is that we have different color tambours in our trailer. Light in the front and dark in the mid-bunk room. As far as I can tell these are factory installed and never painted. Time for a facelift!
