Paint or original - Opinion Poll

Another vote for keep original - - no paint. The biggest frustration with my Overlander was paint applied by the second and third owners -- the great good fortune with my Argosy was that the Interior was all original with almost no changes from the way it was delivered from the factory.

I vote for making your trailer awesome for you and not worry too much about what future owners might have to change to make it awesome for them.

look at it this way.....had it been painted whatever the previous owner felt was "attractive or in", me, whoever the next buyer would have been, would have wanted to remove it all cause it was "old and dingy"....when we buy houses or rent apts. that is what we all do....get our mark, our "dirt" on it.....maybe even try to return it to the original state to help value...... my vote clean it, clear finish and go for it something is to be said about the uniqueness of airstream.......glogeo

Hmmm..... I say if your going to do it right and are a meticulous painter and apply the proper clear coat etc, no harm in painting. That being said, 9 out of 10 paint jobs look terrible on cabinets.

We are historic rehabbers (of real estate). We just rehabbed, for the 3rd time, a property (1900's) that we bought in 1984.
The "new" cabinets we saved were 1993 vintage and we updated them.

1992 isn't historic (and ugly, in 2011). I'd vote to change it to what you like. When it's out of style a new rehabber can rehab it and post their improvements.

I would take pics of "before" and hide them in a location in the coach, that only a serious remodeler would discover to give them a guide to restore.
