And, lastly, "the living room", landing strip lights, wine bar, and kitchen in action...

Redthies,

I have a great idea... Rather than posting all of the details, why don't we just bring our Airstreams to you and you can be paid handsomely for your skills?

Seriously, most of us have nowhere near the level of skill you offer, and would gladly pay someone of your caliber to re-make our aluminum cans.

Mine is relatively new, so I'm aways off from doing the remodel, but you do AMAZING work!

YES PLEASE! I would love to rebuild these babies for a living! If anyone wants to talk about it, I'm all ears! Better yet, we'll come to you... especially if you live somewhere with palm trees! Glad you all are liking what you see...

Thanks! I wish it looked as nice as yours on the outside! I got some more exterior work to do yet...

I guess after 2.5 years I should update this thread... We lived fulltime in the 31' for close to a year, and then sold it when work took us to a rather un-trailer friendly environment. 12' of snow over the course of a 6 month winter seemed a bit much to endure.

I did some restoration work on a '65 Landyacht for a friend, which kept things interesting, but I just recently bought a 26' Argosy. It is a 1975 and we have got it gutted and ready for a new interior and fresh paint on the exterior. I hope to have it complete by July 1st. The current work schedule might slow that timetable down a bit.

Pics will appear as progress occurs!

Are we going to see the progress photos from your Argosy build. I hope so, and based on the rave reviews your prior project got, I am sure many others would welcome seeing your new project unfold.

I will post as I go. Its nice to hear some of you might be interested. As of now, all I have done is gut and wash the interior. Paint has been ordered for the exterior. I think I'll tackle that first. My wife is picking interior fixtures etc now as well.

We have the exterior sanded and waiting for me to have time to spray it. I picked up a new 4 burner with oven and a 12v/120v/propane water heater. I also salvaged a bunch of beautiful Douglas Fir flooring. I hope to actually have some time to get this thing going soon!

Starting on paint today. Seem to forget about all the little things that you have to do first. Caulking removal, re-caulk, stripping off all the little things. On and on it goes...

Pics of the day it came home, and in the town where I picked it up. The box on the truck was also picked up on this trip. It is now black...

Good Luck with that!

I'm sure you'll have a beautiful result when you're done.

Beautiful work, congrats! We just got a 1990 Excella 29" and are redoing the interior to get rid of that ugly yellow. What paint did you use for the interior walls?

Thanks Evan. I got the bottom painted this weekend, but I need a new gun as I'm not satisfied with the finish. It is nice to at least get to see the color on and know it is good.
