Foam is good... over a mattress, but not very supportive in the long run. Why not get a cheap mattress and cover with a memory foam topper (Costco/Sams)? You want something that will support you over time... foam has a tendency to degrade.

While researching for foam cushions, I found this web site:
"[url="www.foamorder.com/cushions.html"]". I don't know anything about them, but, I did get a reply to a question I emailed them, about two weeks after I wrote it. Another web site that I found is: "[url="www.creativethreadarts.com/mediumseatfoam.html"]. Good luck.
If you have latex foam know its very expensive to replace - I believed no foam shop would ever touch used mattress foam So I ripped mine up to discard and found the interior of it was pristine!!
Of course, then I found a guy with a $50,000 foam cutting machine that would've shaved the outer bug-repellent soaked and yellowed oxidized layers off for almost nothing.
If you really must purchase new learn from my mistake... When I bought a smaller bench pad I splurged for the 2x or 3x density foam without trying it out - and it's like laying down on the board beneath the mattress. Have the shop put a cover sheet on each product and try them out first!
We bought a king sized memory foam mattress from Overstock.com for about $100. Then we cut it in half and rounded the corners as needed to match the twin beds in our trailer and put them on top of the existing mattresses. Cutting was easy using a serrated bread knife. This has been a vast improvement over the rock hard mattresses that came standard in the AS
I purchased my foam mattress from Ikea. Took the padded cover off. Cut the foam to fit with an electric carving knife. Stitched a seam in the padded cover to fit the new mattress shape. Put padded cover back on. Done!

When you are using memory foam are you using the 4" memory foam directly on top of wooden frame? I am needing to purchase the foam for my goucho couch and twin bed on the side.
Does anyone know where I can get the foam to make new mattresses with?
I live in Goose Creek SC. I have a Queen size mattress quality piece of foam that I bought for AS trailer a few years ago. It was very expensive. You have Private message.

This is one of the most helpful foam threads that I recall, but I am sure that there are others. I bought my foam at Rochford Supply after choosing exactly what I wanted from their SAMPLE PACK.
Good luck,
Steve
