Need shower door catch for 2005 CCD

The little black spring handle that locks the shower door in our 2005 CCD broke. Dealer says Airstream doesn't stock that part anymore. Has anyone found other suppliers or alternatives? There's just a small hole in the door now & I need to be able to lock it when underway. Thanks much.

Picture please, I have found that lots of things can be found from boat supply places. I found alot of fixtures in my 2003 CCD at a boat supply shop in their catalog. THE EXACT PARTS.

Give it a try.

I know this is an old post. I found the part number for the shower door latch. Its been superceded to 703626-100. The latch uses a screw now to secure the pieces. The part costs a whopping $2.00 thus the problem. So i ordered two just in case.

Now i can take the tape off the door when i travel.. but maybe not.

Vinnie,

I'm sorry, that one will not work. I have already tried it.

Thanks for the info Dan,

I actually called Airstream tech support to get the number. I gave the part number to the dealer in Los Banos without the application so i didnt give them a chance to correct it. Whats different about this part vs the one that came in my coach originally?

Thanks Vinnie

This part does not exist anymore. I came up with my own fix.
See photos.

I have not installed yet, but I am confident it will work. I removed the broken part (shaft), sawed off the remainder flush to the body of the smaller knob and drilled a hole through the smaller knob to accommodate the screw that will screw into the nylon spacer (1/4 x 1 in.). I will try to determine screw size, as I found screws that worked in my miscellaneous screw bin. The larger nob has a hole to accommodate the screw attaching to the nylon spacer.(refer to photos)

Hi, my trailer doesn't have one of these, but isn't this the knob that's on the outside of the shower door, that has caused people to get locked inside?

It is possible to latch from the inside. But why would anyone do that. The purpose of the latch is to secure the shower door while traveling.

Thanks for the pictures.. I too have the magnetic strip that keeps the door closed when showering and in my case when traveling plus the ghetto blue painters tape. I think i will do the same as you. Thanks for posting.
