Question Reflectix Foil Insulation / Installation

Has anyone installed foil backed insulation such as Reflectix? Did you attach to the inside of the outside wall first, or did you put it over the top of the fiberglass insulation, so it's touching the backside of the inside wall. I want to attach to the backside of the outside metal on both the front and rear crown. Then I was going to put fiberglass insulation over the top of that, which then would be covered by the inside metal caps. I was doing it this way to make a barrier in case I ever had a leak in the crown the water would run between the foil insulation and the metal caps down to the lower body, rather then get the fiberglass insulation all wet. The only downside I can see is that the heat from the panel will transfer thru the foil insulation, since there is no air space between the foil insulation and the metal cap.

There are several examples if you search the archives. Most users are gluing spacers in so that the bubblewrap is suspended halfway between the walls.

A search on 'reflectix' returns 36 threads.

Installation details...

I give some detailed instructions about how I installed reflective foil insulation in the following thread:

Foil insulation - observations, tips and tricks

I would also be happy to try to answer any questions that you might have about the process.
