Need Ideas for Bed Rails

I’m wanting to find/build a bed rail to keep my 5 month old son from being able to roll out of bed. I have a 25 FB with the lounge that has the sliding tray to widen it to a bed. I’m wanting to use that for his bed so I don’t have to assemble and disassemble the dinette every night and morning.

My thought is to build a typical bed rail with two risers with probably two long cross members that will block him from rolling. I’m picturing the risers having an L bracket at the bottom that will slide into a bracket that is attached to the top of the slide out. Maybe have thumb screws that would tighten down on it. With this when not in use the brackets on the slide out would be covered by the cushions and you shouldn’t notice them. Of course then I have to deal with the bed rail but I guess that can stow beside the front bed during the day. Or if I could get L brackets that collapsed and the whole thing was thin enough maybe the whole thing could stow under the cushion or behind it.

Any ideas? I’m not purely sold on this design so I’m open to new ones if you have any. I’m not going to be able to get him out of our bed until I have a solution in place.

We used the Babies R Us white fold-down rail: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11745821&searchURL=false

Worked out fine for us and was easily stored in the wardrobe.

How have I not seen one of these before? Thanks for the link. I'm sitting here trying to engineer brackets and that's what I need.

Have you thought about Velcro pajamas?

That's an awesome idea. I'll run that by the wife.
