Neccesity is really the mother of Invention
I just had to tell everyone about our fix for our bathroom sink. On a recent trip to Austin, my husband put the new toothbrush holder our daughter had just given me in our sink. (Bless his heart, he was trying to be helpful). When we reached our campground in Austin, I was horrified to find three holes in our sink! Yikes! We were just heartsick. The toothbrush holder was one of the heavy ones made like a palm tree, it has points on the top.
When we returned home, my husband got a fiberglas kit and mended it on the top and then on the bottom. Next he painted it with epoxy paint, then a clear waterproof mastic. At this point, the sink is fine and no leaks, but lord it looks terrible!
I went to Wal-Mart and found the decorations that go on the bottom of a tub and put them all over the bottom of the sink. They were red roses and gold flowers. I then had him put some more of the waterproof stuff and voila! No one can believe how beautiful this sink is. I will post pictures and hopefully if anyone else ever needs it, this was a great fix.
