Mattress Pads

The matresses in my 81 Excella are a bit hard and lumpy and normally I like a hard matress but the wife and I both agree that they are not comfortable. I was thinking that they need some padding on top. I was wondering if they make some memory foam and inch or so thick that we can put on top of the matresses. Some other high density foam would work as well. The matresses are curved at the back to fit the contour of the rear of the trailer. It is a rear bedroom model.

Perry, Costco has affordable memory form pads. BTW, use an electric knife to cut the rounded corners. Works great.

That's exactly what we did - a memory foam overlay makes all the difference. We got ours half price (if you can believe these things) with a Groupon coupon. As Drathaar says, an electric knife makes cutting a snap.

WE have twins in our trailer so we bought a single California King topper from Overstock.com and cut it to size.

I'm not a memory foam fan but love natural latex mattresses. This place sells toppers and mattresses. They have experience with airstream and will cut to order Natural Latex Mattress Topper | 100% Natural Latex Topper | Latex Mattress Topper

I wonder why everything mattress related is so expensive. It is probably going to amount to what I can find reasonable. Like $100 for both matresses. Something I can cut down. I remember the days that foam rubber was cheap enough to use for packing material. Now it cost about the same as an equal weight of gold.

As a friend of mine once said, "The two most important things in life are comfortable shoes and a comfortable bed. If you're not in one, you're in the other."
