Market for an Entire Airstream Interior?
I am doing an out-to-the-walls rebuild of our 2008 20’ Safari, recreating the interior from materials my extremely chemically sensitive wife and daughters can handle in such an enclosed space. So far, I have extracted all the “furniture” intact with attachment hardware, so the bed, dinette, closet, cabinets, even the bathroom enclosure, are all installable in another Airstream of the same model. The same with all the appliances, since all LPG must go. (converting to all electric.)
My question is: Is there a market for the whole thing, furniture and appliances, perhaps for someone whose interior was damaged or has taken a beating? If so, can any of your recommend how I might be find those potential buyers? Do I simply post in the Classifieds under “Parts & Appliances”?
I realize I could sell the individuals pieces, probably selling most if not all of the appliances and maybe a couple of the furniture pieces to someone who broke the one they have, but I’m not interested in doing dozens of transactions, haggling over dollars for an OEM closet hinge or storage door. I’m in the upper left corner of the contiguous US, so not centrally located, but there seems to be more than a few Airstreams up here. Plus I never cease to be amazed how far Airstream owners will drive.
Your advice appreciated,
C.C.
