we took out a bench and extended the couch... it works out really nicely - much better sleeping area and more "lounge" space...

As we use the trailer we are becoming less, and less enthralled with the dinette setup. Where is a good place to go to see pictures and get ideas on conversions or modifications to the dinette?

We still need a place to eat but there are usually just two of us and we spend more time probably using the dinette to watch TV and/or use our laptops.

The dinette is just so dang uncomfortable to sit at. Also watching TV from the curbside is outright punishing.
I have the 2015 Serenity. Here is my setup.

Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center did this for us. They built a very small and low box over the front curbside relays, and I designed this cabinet and they built it over the converter/charger in it's original position. All removable with a few screws. The folding table, center console, and recliners are Airstream production line FC 30 Recliner model components. They wired the 120 vac recepticle on the side of the center console from the receptacle below. Total cost about $4200 Airstream recliners, all components, matching cabinet material, and labor.

Here's the custom cabinet. Note also I removed the bath door, turned it upside down, and screwed the hinge to the opposite side so it opens toward the bedroom rather than the living room. The outside storage access opens behind the folding table with just enough space for our everyday items, portable drill case, can of CorrosionX, polish, etc.

WOW what a beautiful redo - it kept the integrity of the design and improved upon it! This is first class - I'm not a fan of using huge recliners or sofas that look like they belong at home. I will definitely consider using your smart design and Timeless Trailers when I redo ours. Thanks for sharing it!

The dinette didn't work for us at all so we had it entirely removed from our 2012 Serenity 28. To go with our mid mod interior, we designed an "atomic" style counter anchored by a single tapered leg on one side and a very cool and useful cabinet on the other end. We added 2 Eames swivel chairs and my husband had a shelf built into the side of the cabinet for his DISH receiver too. It functions as a workspace, prep space, serving space and has a ton of storage underneath as well as in the cabinet! Design and materials sourcing Click image for larger version

I have the sofa and we wish we had the dinette unit. I see so many have removed them. Just wondering if somebody in Arizona would like to sale the unit or trade for the sofa that came with the AS
