I can't say for sure what the switch is for on a '64. On my '67 GT there was a switch right above an outlet on the wall next to the sink. (Great place for 120 Volts AC in pre-GFI days.)
The switch supplied 12 Volts DC power to the water pump.

Just a thought,
Tom.

i will check that i just got the water working... it was a big project. the hot water heater has a leak in it. but it sat for over 17 years so i knew that was going to happen. i am learning a lot about the airstream wow. i am taking a trip this weekend so i will try out stuff. the toilet works but i am not sure how to clean it out yet. i am really a new girl when it comes to camping. but had a great time fixing it up. it took two years and i live in minnesota so i only get to work on it in the summer thanks for the thought ... sara
