We've been rehabbing our '70 Sovereign for almost a year now, and today it just dawned on me that we are almost done. Of course, I still have a list of things that we want to do, but most of the big stuff is over - and paid for. After all that, we would appreciate comments/feedback/suggestions from those of you who have 'been there, done that'.
I worked over 2 years on my 68 Trade Wind. We started using ours as an "aluminum tent" early on. Each trip we would have a few more things on the restoration completed. First the bathroom, then the galley, then the gaucho, etc. It kept us both motivated to keep on working on all the little things after we had finished the big stuff. Kept the dream alive so to speak when we were both tired of working on the thing. Would I do it again, no. I'd rather go camping than work on it. Would I do a few things differently , yes. Would I take anything for the experience- NO.
