Interior Rear Supports??

I have just required a '67 Caravel.. The Interior is completely ripped out..I would like to put the interior back like the new Quicksilver Edition AS. I want to add Support struts in the rear..I 'm thinking of making them out of plywood and taking the patterns to my local tube bender and having him bend some C-channel to match my radius.. Then Pull and re-rivet them into the outer skin...Any Suggestions?
