Interior choices

Hello, I am new to this forum and was looking at Airstreams for hours on monday and the one thing that I noticed was there where two major differences as far as interior finish is concerned. There is the bare silver and the vinl/carpet type mix is this just an option that you can choose one or the other? The display sheet never listed one or the other as upgraded options. Thank you, By the way I really liked the Safari 25a although the 25fb seems to be the popular model, Vincent

Welcome to the forums. Generally the raw aluminum interior is the CCD version, the cloth and vinyl is the Safari version, and the wood and fabric is the Classic version.
There is also a version that has the raw aluminum interior, but a more conventional layout than the CCD, I think it is called a "SE".

Terry- You pretty much nailed on the interiors. Yes, the CCD editions along with the limited Bambi editions have the naked aluminum interior skins. When you get into the Safari editions you have 90% wall rag with some aluminum in the galley areas. When you get into the Classics you are looking at vinyl with some wall rag. So Vincent, I hope we are able to help you with this one. The interior wall coverings are not options, there are very few options when it comes to a particular line of Airstreams, excepting interior colors, audio video and a few other functional items.

The bare aluminum interiors are generally found on the higher end and special edition models. The models with the white fuzzy stuff on the walls and vinyl on the ceiling are generally Safaris. We have a 25FB, and have found that this layout works really well for us.

In the Safari line, the SE (Special Edition) models are those with aluminum interior skins. It's an option that costs about $5k.

Generally speaking, when comparing the aluminum to the vinyl interiors, the aluminum interior will be cooler in cold weather and warmer in hot weather. The difference is mostly due to the insulating properties of the two materials and partly due to the difference in windows between the SE and non-SE models.

Hope this helps clarify things a bit.
