Similar cabinets, flooring, upholstery and lighting we can do, but the curved aluminum interior is the problem. We can get sheets of aluminum but those curved interior corners seem imposible without a form. Can you get a section like that through airstream factory? I've been looking at the site and don't see a "contact us" or "buy parts" area. This will not happen anytime soon but we are dreaming. Deb

They wouldl refer you to a dealer.
If you were to take your unit to the factory...
They most likely would install it for you..
I used to vacation on the OuterBanks when I was a kid..
The folks had a place at Avon Beach, back in the mid 50's..
Now, I go to our place in Sandbridge, Va.

It depends somewhat on what you are starting with. Most pre-60's have aluminum interior end caps that can be stripped of the Zolatone paint. Some mid-60's including our 64' have plastic end caps that were painted with Zolatone and others have vinyl covered aluminum panels...I'm not as familiar with 70's or newer so I'll reserve comment.
Check out posts by Tin Can Luv he and a couple of other folks here have applied thin aluminum sheets over the existing interior with rivets and acheived a similar look.

It seems like you could use outer end caps on the inside. They would have to be trimmed a little and riveted a little narrower than originally because it would be about 3" narrower width. They should be relatively cheap from the salvage yard, the inner surface is what will show doing this so exterior condition won't matter.
Hi! I just talked to harbour welding, a boat manufacturer on the outerbanks (OBX) and they said I could use 1/8th inch aluminum sheeting. It also comed in 1/16th inch . A 4x8'x1/8" sheet will cost me $220.00. but they said they can order any size My concern is getting it INTO the argosy They say its expensive because of all the building in china and the war. Any recommendaTions. They also said that with kids and all I would do better with the 1/8 inch thikness but the stuff we have in there now looks like its 1/16. What do you think? THANKS
I think your boat guy is trying to sell you a lot of aluminum. The outside aluminum is either .032" or .040". Unless your kids are gorillas, I whould go with something thinner than 1/8", which is about the thickness used in boat hulls.
Try an aircraft materials supplier like Aircraft-spruce.com. They have the appropriate thicknesses used by Airstream (as in Don's post) of the 2024T3 Alclad Aluminum. If you are applying it over the interior panels you could even go with thinner materials.
A 4'x12' sheet of the .032 is $165.

That was owned, and operated for many years by a relative in the family~
We used to play on the sand dunes as kids. Wild imaginations took us to "Africa”. Lost, etc.lol
It's been a few years now since I've been there but, I'm looking forward to a return trip, one day, with my Airstream in tow~
