has anyone installed a fiberglass bathtub?

We are thinking of installing a "real" fiberglass bathtub in Our Rosie. We would have to make space for it of course,. We are just wondering if anyone has gone through this? Or ever heard of it?

You must have the center bath model, the rear bath model has a small tub. The main issue is hot water. With a standard 10gal water heater you don't have a lot of hot water to fill a bath tub.

I have only encountered one instance where a Vintage Airstream owner has installed a home-type fiberglass bathtub in a Sovereign. One of the early participants in the Forums Rally held at Morraine View State Park near Normal, Illinois had a fiberglass "spa" tup in their late 1970s Sovereign. I don't remember the details, but they were at one of the first few of the Morraine View Rallys (the Rally is starting its second decade). My concern with a jetted tub would be winterizations - - so many places for water to accumulate and freeze during the winter . . . I have always wondered what their experiences were with winterizing that "spa" tub.

Good luck with your investigation!

Thank you for the replies! We do not have a rear bath. We were thinking of removing the kitchen sink area and the shower area. Also we didn't want a tub with jets.
