From goucho to dinette

I just bought a wonderful 2006 25'Safari that had a Goucho sofabed in the front. I really didn't care for that arrangement and wanted to convert that area to a dinette. First off, I removed the Goucho and sold it in the Classifieds section of this web site and then I got my trusty carpenter, who did most of the finish work on the house that I had built a few years ago to come and build me a dinette to go in that space. He did a beautiful job with plywood and Wilsonart Laminate from Home Depot. Took him a week to complete the transformation. I am waiting for the upholstery fabric I ordered form Joann's Fabrics to arrive (on sale 50% off plus 20%off for seniors special sale - Wow 70% off for some really nice fabric!) The lady that did some upholstery work for me with the house construction is doing the cushions. I bought the 5" foam online for half of what she was going to charge me - I love Google! I have attached some photos of the progression and when I get the cushions finished I will send a photo for the finished project along with the total cost breakdown. It was so much easier that I had anticipated. What do ya think?

Looks great.

What did he use to finish off the plywood base?

Looks nice. Obviously you didnt already have a dinette or did you modify another area aswell?

I like the style, quite simple and clean. Do you have a sample of the fabric you can show us?

When you move out the tabletop, will it make a bedframe along with the seats?

The Dinette is sitting where I took the Gaucho out. I had good storage under the gaucho but I think I have even more under, beside and behind the dinette now. The seats are completely removable for easy access to all those areas. (We lived on a sailboat too long and learned to use every available space for parts and provisions)

The bases are finished with Wilsonart laminate and I painted all the uncovered and interior parts with a primer. The laminate is the LIMBER-MAPLE color #10734-60. I tried to get as close to the color as the rest of the cabinets in the AS. The table top is covered with CRYSTALLINE DUNE #1838K-45. This stuff was a little more expensive than the Limber Maple and the smallest sheet I could buy was 48 X 96. I had originally planed to use this for the table top only and cover the seats in a white laminate but since it was so expensive and I had so much of it we covered not only the table top but the seat tops and used it for all the trim. I used polyurethane on the underside of the seats and table top.
The table does come down and join with the seats to make a bed. I used AS part #31-9000 Table Hinge Bracket Kit and Part#31-1556 Fold-up Table Leg, 30-1/2". I am not happy with the Table Leg as it's folding mechanism is very stiff and tough on the fingers to manipulate. Hopefully, I won't have to fold it up very often.
I don't have a pic of the fabric but will send pics and descriptions of the finished product when I finally get it (I think Joann's forgot to order it when I bought it and only placed the order after I started bugging them about it after two weeks of waiting. An unfortunate but but all too common lack of "follow through" on the part of many people we have to deal with in life)
Hope these explanations are helpful.

Nice Choice.... I love the Winson Art Limber-Maple. Airstream is currently using it in the 2012 Eddie bauer 25' FB.
