On my rivet gun, I frequently have to keep pulling the trigger to get the spur to snap off...

I was filling holes today to prep for painting and one of the stems actually got stuck in the pull mechanism in the rivet gun. Wasted a half hour working it out BAH!

Yep to the rivits. Rivits in screw holes tend to stand out a little if you don't peen the old hole. I had some holes I did'nt want to show. For a paint over situation JB weld works well. Just make sure the holes are burr free with a slight countersink, and force enough through the hole for a little "mushroom" effect on the back side. There is also an aluminum body filler out there, can't remember the name. Mixes up like bondo and leaves a finish very close to the aluminum, @ $50.00 per Qt. On a rivit hole in an unpainted interior aluminum skin you would have to look for it. On a polished outside it would show.

Colored Rivets

The interior of my Argosy is white. I found white aluminum rivets at a place called Fastenal. They sell mechanical fasteners.

Jackson Center has them in white, brown, or the "0ff-white" colour on our interior.
