FC 28 pull out couch tray question

The pullout tray in our FC28 doesnít seem to pull out as far as it should. The cushion hangs over the edge about 2 inches. I think itís supposed to sit snuggly in the tray based on looking at other photos. It doesnít seem to be catching on anything I can easily identify. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's been a while since I pulled our tray out, but I seem to remember the tray locking in to a notch or detent near the end, requiring a bit more of a tug. Sorry I didn't see this post earlier as I was at my AS (storage) this afternoon and could have checked mine. If the "tug" doesn't do it and you don't get a more helpful answer, let me know and I will be glad to swing back by my trailer and check how far it slides out.

Thank you so much for your reply. I think it’s as far as it pulls out. I tried a tug and nothing. There doesn’t seem to be more tray to actually pull out but boy is it weird the way it hangs over the lip. I’m going to search some photos and see if I can tell if mine is just weird or if this is how it’s supposed to be. Thanks again!

I went over to my AS today out of curiosity since it had only been used as a bed one time. My initial reply was incorrect, the catch, or detent, is when you slide it in, not out. When fully extended, my cushions also ride over the front lip of the tray. Doesn't seem to hurt anything. My brother-in-law slept on it a couple of nights with no complaints. Also, make sure that along, wedge piece behind the back cushions has not dropped down preventing the seat cushions from going all the way back. It often drops down on us when sitting on the couch. Sorry about the sideways pics, but you can see the overhang.

Ace75, while not the same model, we have a tray on our 27’ Globetrotter. I imagine Airstream would try and use the same slides.

I ran out and checked ours - pulled a tape from the front of the couch to the edge of the extended tray. It’s 17” from face to outside edge of the tray. The two cushions are 14” across the top and fit snugly into the tray (they want to pop out).

Can you check with a tape measure to see what you get?

Good luck!
Jeff

Ahhhh!!!! This is awesome. I will measure as soon as I have a moment! I agree, I can’t imagine there are that many variations on this tray/ sofa combo. Especially with only a 1 foot total difference. I’ll share when I can and am super grateful for the help!!
