Easy way to redo a tub?

Is there an easy way to redo a tub in a trailer. Not a big tub BTW.

The obvious, most-direct way to do it, is to replace the tub. I'm pretty sure that's not what you want, so my real answer is to find a tub recoating company. They will coat the old tub with a colored epoxy.

"They" say it's cheaper than a new tub. I don't know how much cheaper, or what new tub "they" were comparing the recoating to.
I would make sure the epoxy was flexible enough to use on a plastic/fiberglass tub before committing resources (read money) to doing this. "They" also say the recoat can be performed without removing the tub. I have seen recoated household tubs, but no recoated RV tubs.
Probably letting your fingers do the walking locally would be your best bet. As long as the trailer is towable, you could take it to where the recoating people are.

We used Awlgrip 2-part marine paint on our tub. So far it is holding up pretty well. Looks nice and shiny and cleans up pretty easy. We chose this paint because there is some flex in the tub (I am not petite) and the paint guy at the boat show said it would hold up nicely as boat hulls and decks flex constantly....

A new tub would have been nice but the paint was $40....

Firstly... what year trailer? Is it fiberglass or plastic?

many professionals use the following PPG products... it is a two part primer and a two part top coat. This is what is used on auto bumpers and it is very strong and very flexible. I used a color called "deep aluminum" it has fool more than a few visitors that thought it was aluminum.

The paint is known as Acrylic Urethene. You will find it at an auto body supply house along with sandpaper and many other things useful in your projects.

Frank, did you use flex agent in the paint? It will allow the paint to flex without cracking.

well if it is a 68 I would think this product would be the most ideal. As far as "the easy way"... excellent work comes from excellent preparation and follow through using excellent products. Easy usually means some thing less than excellent. The real question is to what level you want to take it. I can post more photos of all the steps I took if you would like. I know you would prefer to just go to Lowes and buy a bottle of stuff you just wipe on and presto, it is just not that easy.

Terry, the paint line is the flexi bumper kind of urethene. If anyone needs the numbers I can get that info too.
