Dinette into a bed?
We have a '66 Tradewind twin bed model with the front twin gaucho dinette. Other SOB trailers we've had the dinette table becomes the platform between the gauchos for a double bed. The table in ours is hinged and obviously was never intended to be used to create a bed. The PO had 2 approximately 24" X 72" X 3/4" boards stored under each of the twin mattresses to be used to create the platform across the dinettes. We have not yet needed, but will someday, utilize these boards. Question: Was this how Airstream back then designed it? It seems a clumsy proceedure. How have those of you with same or similar set-up dealt with it? Has any one adapted the hinged table (with leaf) to be a platform?
