dangling wires in fridge vent? ...and Monitor panel

I have a 1971 Globetrotter 21'. Replacing fridge! Very excited to have one that automatically switches to gas!
Anyway, noticed a set of four wires leading up into the fridge vent, dead ended and taped inside vent...looks like a factory taped pigtail. What are these for?
Also, my monitor panel needs work. Looks like water and black tank lights are dim all the time, then when the switch is activated, they brighten based on the tank levels. I am thinking this is not a great system with lights on all the time. Would anyone recommend a replacement monitor panel that I can retrofit in this spot?

Well, I can't help your wiring questions, but I have found some schematics online. I don't know of a good monitor replacement, either. You are better off than I. My monitor's wires on my '76 Tradewind have all been cut and I have no lights at all.
