Comfort in an Airstream

I was really hot on getting a vintage air stream but was looking and they didn't look that comfortable to set around in what have some of y'all done to make them more comfortable

Some people remove the stock dinnets (sp) and couches. Hard to beat an old Lazy Boy for comfort.

The built in seats in most any travel trailer aren't comfortable for me. I use a good reclining office chair that has armrests and headrest. Not quite as good as a Lazy-Boy but very close, and takes up less room. The wheels are nice too, just lay it face down when on the road. The problem is finding a trailer with the room for a good chair. Haven't figured out where to put the wood stove though! Leland

If it was me, I'd use a comfy zero-gravity lawn chair, that can be used indoors or out.

In fact, that's exactly what I use as a recliner at home. Easier to move for cleaning the floor, too.

Look for a model where you can remove the furnishings that are uncomfortable so it leaves an empty space in front. Then you can put anything you like in there. Sofa, recliners, love seat, futon, lawn furniture . . . your restriction will be what fits through the door, and weight and balance.

gotta agree...those funky bench seats and wobbly ass big fixed table are a space waster.

we replaced our gaucho with this home theater seating from Big Lots, $600. Much better. There is room for the fold out tables too.

Thinking of pulling out my curbside dinette seat and cabinet in my Classic 25fb and putting in a Lambright Wall Hugger in matching Ultra-leather.

Lambright recliner

Looks great guys! We used regular TV trays for two years with our recliners until we found these. Not as pretty, but the feet slide up under the chair and they adjust in height so you can get the tray over your lap. No more dribbles on our clothes. We got ours at Bed Bath and Beyond in black.

Well we find our ultra leather dinette comfy for dining. For TV watching, we lower the table, and add a couple of fluffy down euro pillows (26 x 26) from Ikea covered in red linen shams. Great for reading in bed too

Gaucho is also called jack knife sofa. Its the ugly, uncomfortable sofa in the front of too many AS.

Well, now I understand why the Gaucho Is commonly one of the first items removed during restoration. One less mouth to feed on the road...😉

I have a "gaucho" but I also need the flexibility to have a bed, under storage and sofa as it is the only sitting area in my floor plan. I am looking at Villa International's stuff but it is pricy. I sat in a real comfortable sofa in a 2014 Classic last week. Very nice.
