Chirping smoke detector

Ok, I've changed the battery twice now in a span of 10 minutes. It is still chirping!!!!

How old is it? The one in my house has a shelf-life of around 10 years. Once it hits that age, it chirps to tell me to toss it and replace it with a brand-new detector (smoke & CO2)

I have replaced the battery twice within the last 15 minutes thinking that perhaps the first battery was defective. Now it still chirps.

I had the same problem...chirps 3 times. That's the indicator of max age.

I wondered what the heck was going on after swapping out batteries a couple times. Finally found the details on the manufacturers website.
