Captains chairs source...

We need to replace the captains chairs in our 310 moho. The few I have found in leather are $950+ each. Is that pretty much it? Alco I have searched under "RV" but wonder if van chairs are interchangeable and might give us more options.

You can often get a good price from an RV Surplus store. Don't know if therre are any close to you. Elkhart, In. has several.

Also campingworld has some less expensive captain chairs. I'm not sure of brand or features. Do your power units still work? These are seperate from the chairs themselves and cost about $400 to replace.

try lkq auto salvage , there is one in OH , IL PROBABLY ONE IN YOURSTATE.THEY HAVE NICE ONES FOR $100 T0 $500..

I changed out my Flexsteel seats but kept my power bases. Bought mine on eBay. The company I dealt with was great but have since stopped working. I'm in touch with their former president but they're not ready with the new line of integrated seat belt stuff yet. I keep pushing as I'm in the market for shoulder restraints for my coach.
Keep your options open and take a look on eBay for "leather seats" some of them even have integral seat belts. A nice Cadillac seat on your power base with integral belts would be a great touch. Some modification will be required to mount them but not brain surgery.

My husband says we don't have power bases and we are okay with that (which sounds like a good thing $$wise.)

It would be good to get the integrated shoulder belt though. Well check out some of these sources and let you know when/if we find seats!

Post a source if you have one, I would like to swap mine out in my 77, Argosy. The originals leave much to be desired....

Hello, I bought my new seats with a lighter tan high quality material
and including the frame and wiring for the power seat. These were new
surplus with one broken control switch which I ordered from flexsteel and
fixed them up. They were less than 1/2 price at the time. Be sure to
look them all over real good for defects.

Check out this eBay listing 320040366247. Integral seat belts, leather, full power including lumbar! Mount 'em on your bases and go in style. Lots more in this catagory, find some close to home and go get 'em.
I bought manual leather chairs out of a GM Van for my old bus and stole them for very little money. Keep shopping, you'll find something to love!

There are so many options for seating it just will wear you out. eBay is a great place to look. Like that listing I left there are lots of commercial sellers as well as private deals.
Let me reinterate to any and all who wish to embark on doing a seat swap... SOLID BASES are key to safety. You are a lot of forward moving mass when you hit the brakes or God forbid something somewhat imovable.
Do a very good job of bolting your bases to the floor and your new chairs to the bases. You'll be glad you did.
I really do want a shoulder strap without having to anchor to the sidewall of the coach so was waiting for BPI seats to come with the next generation of my seats. The closing of that business was the end of that so it's on my very long list of things to do .... when time and money, stars, good fortune all align as one.

What puzzles me is if there are issues with new seats fitting the pedestals that the current seats are attached. I do need to crawl under them and see how they are fixed. Do these tend to be universal whether they come out of a van or an RV?

One more question...are "integral belts" ones that are secured to the seat and not somehow afixed to the coach? (Our old fashioned seats have the belts secured to the floor which I think makes sense.)

A lot of seats have common bolt patterns and spacing. Some seats though have unique mounting plates specific to the seat. Most aftermarket seats will mount to existing pedistals or have mounting brackets available.
Measure your existing pedistal and work from there. Your seats are likely attached to the base with four bolts. The aftermarket sellers will provide bolt pattern info.
The integral seat belts are attached to the seat. That's why you need to be certain that the seat is very well attached to both the pedistal and the floor.

Unfortunately I have tried the seats from a GM truck and I don't think they work to well. I still have them in the motorhome but I feel they're too big. I am definitely going to replace them with something different. In my case I had to modify the seat base which wasn't that difficult.

I visited the AS factory and saw some seats I really liked and asked where they got them and they said Villa International http://www.villainternational.com/products/seats.htm but they are pricey. Way pricey. But man do they look good.

I don't know if the captains chairs from a GMC Savana are smaller than the driver and passenger seats, if they are these look real nice. Attached picture is from a 2006 GMC Savana. The only problem is they don't have the integrated seat belt, but they do have 2 armrest which I like.

Flexsteel makes some real nice seats also just haven't been able to find a website that shows the different styles and pricing.
