cable TV switch

I own a 1976 Tradewind. There are 3 outlet boxes under the window on the driver's side of the bedroom. The first one has a switch, coaxial connection, and a DC outlet. I guess it's for a tv, but I can't find the other end of the cable. Does anyone know exactly what this is and how it's supposed to work?

I have a 72 Tradewind 25'. 12v TV powered by DC outlet (I think Walmart still sells them), coax cable for TV connects to coax connection which terminates at your antenna. I tore all mine out...going with an HD air antenna and just one TV in the front. Anything else, I can get on my iPad and wifi connection.

What you have may have been added by a previous owner as a TV cable connection wasn't available on the 1976 Airstreams. On the other hand, you may be looking at the original outlet for a television antenna with 12-volt DC signal booster (switch) near coaxial connection with 12-volt-DC outlet. In its original configuration, your Airstream could have had an optional roof mounted antenna (usually mounted over the open area in front of the lounge at the front of the coach). Since 300 ohm flat twin-lead television wire would likely have still been utilized in 1976, there may be a coax to flat twin lead wire at one end or the other of your coax.

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

Thanks everyone. My question was answered. I see coaxial cable on my roof and an antenna booster certainly makes sense.
