Yeah, but instead of solid stainless steel that's only chrome over brass. I think that if your Airstream spends much time under water, those hooks'll probably corrode!

Yeah, but, they are not new, one is pretty rusted and the seller wants about $14 for shipping to NM.

I ordered some other hardware from Sailboat Stuff and they put some Byam Hooks on back order for me. Said they expect them to come in from China in about 8 weeks. They are listed with Sailboat Stuff as Razor Strop Hooks. They have brass in stock now.

For those of you wanting to get some of these I just received info from SailboatStuff that their order from - where else - China has been delayed and they now expect it to arrive in late April. Stay tuned.

Just placed an order. Fortunately, my '58 Overlander came with three Byam Hooks, all in perfect condition.

Finally got my almost Byam Hooks yesterday. They've been at my mail drop for over a month but I haven't had any mail forwarded. Just got thru installing five of them to replace the wire hooks that Airstream installs on the end of the overhead cabinet by the door. Think they look great - much better than the ones they replaced. Sorry no camera yet or I'd post a picture. And when I removed the old hooks I discovered the end of the cabinet was ready to fall off so ran a couple of screws in to hold it on. More fine QC!

Has anyone found a retailer who sells stainless steel Byam Hooks?

Thanks,

Why stainless? The original are chrome and available from Sailboat
Stuff. See my above post.

I called the folks at Sailboatstuff today on the status of my order placed in May. They are expecting the chome colored hooks in mid- to late-November. About 200 have been placed on backorder, probably all Airstreamers.

Just called SailBoatStuff again on the status of my order and they said they had trouble with a distributor, but are expecting the next shipment in 6-8 weeks. They placed an order for over 200 hooks.

Well, I finally received my order of five Razor Strop Hooks from Sailboatstuff.com. The quality of the hooks is outstanding. The new hooks are much heavier than the original Byam Hooks and have an excellent finish. As you can see from the hooks, they are not a perfect match but they are pretty close. In the first pic on the left, the Byam Hook is on the left, and in the other pic, the Byam Hook is on the right.
