Bunk beds

I have a 1973 Land yacht Safari. I'd like to build bunk beds on one side (currently twins on either). I'm pretty good building things out of wood, but should I be concerned about the weight of what I put in? It's basically 2x4's and plywood. I can't imagine it's going to add that much extra weight.
