Beds & Sheets

This isn't a restoration question per se, but this seemed the best place to "file" it.

So I'm getting to know my new 19' Bambi, and I'm curious about the bed. It of course has this odd curve at the top left. Where does everyone get sheets for this thing?? What standard size bed is this the closest to?

Hayley

The Airstream store sells sheets that will fit most (many?) of the beds.

I've got a corner bed, and simply use regular double-sized sheets though - it's cheaper and I can choose whatever color I like!

Hello Haley,

If you go to the airstream store they have sheets that are made to fit the corner bed....they work great and do not pull out like regular sheets...hope that helps. Randy

The other option is to use regular twin size bedsheets and just tuck in the extra fabric. This is what we do and we have had zero problems.

Hmm, as new members we were just looking at this situation. At approximately 60 x 83, the only sheet size that would seem to fit our dinette bed is California King. None of the Airstream factory bedding packages are that big.

Custom made appears to be the only other option...

After looking at those sheet prices I think I will go to the lady that did my gaucho upholtry ($300 each gaucho---new cusion fabric & labor, plus a duck canvas slip over cover for each) and have some sheets made for the gauchos, I am sure she will come in considerably cheaper for the same quality. Those are some pricy sheets!

Hey I can answer this one! I got mine at Walmart, they are elastics with rubber thingies at the end that help sheets stay in place. So I bought great sheets that were the closest size, then I adjusted the straps to make the bottom one perfect. We top the fitted bottom (which I'm proud to say looks great and stays in place) with 2 twin comforters (his and hers) that lay over the entire bed. The color coordination turned out great. The rubber elastic thingies were about 4$ canadian.

We bought the mattress cover from Airstream and have been disappointed. We use a 3" memory foam topper and the mattress pad won't accommodate the extra thickness. The elastic pops off the mattress and scrunches up the topper.
