I have a 2004 Bambi 19'CCD. My wife and I love it. However we would like to take out the bed and place a sofa bed in it's place. One that would be in sort of an "L" shape covering the side and back wall of the trailer with a fold out bed coming out from the side. Has anyone tried something like this? The bed sitting there all the time seems like a waste of space when not in use.
I agree with Brad, possibly consider trading in your CCD for the new 75th Anniversary Bambi. It has the gaucho style sofa/bed, but also has the entertainment center on the curb side instead of the refrigerator. A cool set up!

I have a 2005 22' Safari. I had the frony bed replaced with exactly w.hat you are looking for. Job was done by Ron at Click Above to Enter
Opened up an otherwise tight floorplan. Would post a picture if I knew how.
Some disadvantages of the gaucho/sofa bed arrangement are:
1) have to make up/down the bed every morning/night (gets old if you are out in it alot)
2) having to store the bed linens when not on the bed
3) having to pay for expensive upholstery on the gaucho/sofa - bed linens are usually cheaper
4) only one person can "nap" on a sofa
Otherwise...they're great and they do open up a small trailer.
