Cool Bed Ledge- Traded in the twins

Has anyone ever replaced a twin and used the 'ledge' on the wall as a mount for another bed? We made a pull put bed and am having to tweak our home-drawn design slightly to make changes to the 'frame'. The slide works great! I've got pics and details about our adventure here:

Looking for advise on the 'frame' over the wheel well and the tiny 1" ledge.
