Good morning everyone, I just wanted to say hi and pass on some encouragement to those of you considering a restore on you bathrooms. I have just about finished mine and I think it looks great, Its allot of work and a slow process but I think it was worth it.
What do you think?
I had to remove everything to do some work on the floor, but I think I would anyway if you are considering doing this, you really need to be able to get to all sides of the fixtures. I then used a product that I obtained form a local paint store, which you brush on and remove and then wet sand the fixtures and then it has an epoxy paint that you use. It is allot harded than it sounds, and time comsuming but looks great. You are very limited on the colors avilable, only light colors or white.

Great job with that epoxy paint. We did the same thing, and wow, what a difference! I was really disapointed in the condition of our bathroom when we first got it, it looked just like yours. We too used a 2 part epoxy paint from HD, and in just a couple days, it's like a brand new bathroom. You're right abotu the limited colors, however, in case you're interestsed, there is another company that makes 2 part epoxy paints in several colors; http://www.tubbyusa.com/
I can't tell, did you also paint the bathroom walls? In the before pictures, I can see the patterned walls, but can not see the tub wall to see if it is the yellow/gold. In the after pictures, it looks like I see the patterned walls painted the same color as the tub wall (yellow/gold).
How did you release the tub from the drain pipe?
