Anyone interested?

Hello everyone!
I just bought a new to me 1968 Ambassador. It has many original parts but I do not wish to keep them. Is there someone out there looking for any of these parts? The bathroom shaving mirror, the couch frame, the radio? My husband wants to see if anyone needs these parts for a original restoration. Also need help from anyone who has a diagram to rebuild door knob as I have all parts but it was without a key so if was removed.
Thanks in advance,
Sherry

@Waltonfive

A word to the wise....don't sell or throw anything out until you have completed the restoration. Too many restorations have been started in the past, only to find people trying to remember how things went back together and dismayed to remember selling a critical part, that they now need.

When I restored my 310 I reworked gables that I was sure I was going to replace but found that any parts replaced would be heavier and far more costly than revinyling what I had. If I had thrown them out or sold them my restoration may not have been completed. I also used components that some of the parts of that component I had updated with new parts.

Cheers
Tony

Tony,
Thanks! We are only taken out appliances and couch/beds. My husband is a finished carpenter and rebuilding objects from the templates. Hear is my problem...we pulled out refrig unit and cord turned to dust in my hand. All the years of exposure and rodents have me scared to even run electric to the unit. Had to remove everything and have electrical required (repurposing what we could). Next issue is.....I am a nurse and would be unable to sleep/eat in camper after knowing all the bugs/rodent/filth that was present. The refrig was literally legionaires disease in theory lol and even full Ppe didn't calm my fears of contracting dysentery while sanitizing unit. I know I am over the top but my overwhelming love of vintage air streams overrides my OCD on cleanilness. Just wil not let son or grandson in unit yet! Thanks again!

I'm a high end cabinetmaker as well and know what is involved in a restoration as I even had to replace my subfloor in the first 12' and last 8' of my 310. That's a different thread.

How far along in the restoration are you?

Building new cabinets to accommodate new appliances is the fun part. I didn't have to replace my fridge but it did need a new drain pipe.

Spray Nine antibacterial cleaner has been my best friend in cleaning my vintage rig. It really does clean well and will take off any grease or scum on anything.

Cheers
Tony
