Another very detailed and incomplete restoration thread/blog

Just spent a long time reading through another thread that led to a restoration blog. Beautiful photos and detailed descriptions of work - then nothing! No finished product pictures. Maybe people don't survive their restorations. It's a big disappointment!

Probably so tired and worn out both mentally and physically they just forget.

I don't envy anyone doing a restoration for sure.

I'm two years into a full monty, and am glad I didn't create a blog/thread to document the activity. If I had, you would still be waiting for the conclusion, and that little bit of extra labor (the blogging) probably would have pushed me right over the edge.

Hi,
I am in the UK, and i was only talking about this the other day with my friend in the States,
i bought my 73 overlander in 2010 and spent the next 15months working on it doing full resto, i would have loved to have done a blog and pictured every little job and and worked for a living. but if i had started a blog i'd still be working on the old girl. i have total respect and admiration for the serious resto experts that can do both or all 3 (work as well).
I recently (yesterday) sold the overlander and was amazed by the amount of interest in it, but my friend said that it was because my Airstream was unique as it was a COMPLETED restoration, as a very high % either never actually get started or get abandoned mid way which is so sad. Only 2 days ago a lady got in touch with me to offer cash and her 62 Overlander which she'd bought 2yrs ago and just sat on her property for mine.
I was tempted but she valued it too high, which sadly means it will probably sit there for many more years in our damp and cold country !!!
BTW, i have not been cured of my aluminitis, my 1960 Avion arrives next week http://www.airforums.com/forums/imag...lies/wally.gif

From now on, I'm going to look at the end of the blog first in case they never finished. Mine is in pretty good shape. I just tore the carpet out of it a got rid of the curtains. Now I'm going to paint it. I was looking for interesting paint jobs. It seems easy to get obsessed!
