Afraid to ask!!!
So have taken a few trips with my new 2015 28ft FC. Noticed something that causes me pause and am afraid to hear the answer. Oh well here it goes... Every once in awhile - actually very seldom while camping my water pump will cycle very briefly. Only a couple of seconds, if even that. My fear is there is a leak somewhere. Or is it just sensitive enough that when in standby mode the slightest change in pressure trips the bump?

I think they all do that occasionally. I know mine do (in both of my trailers) and my daughter's does, as well as my daughter-in-law's. We had this discussion while camping last week & we all have a random pump turn on. If you see no water anywhere, I wouldn't worry about it. IMHO :-)

The bad news is that it probably does indicate a leak.
The good news is that is can be the pump check valves leaking internally.

The check valve seems to do this.
You may also notice when hooked up to city water, your fresh wster tank will overflow and leak out of the fill port... this too is an indication of a weak/ faulty/ dirty check valve. This can be inspected and clesned by the user.

Mine does this too - just for a split second every half-hour, now more frequent. However, I've gotten to all areas near fixtures and the hot water tank and can find no signs of moisture. I'm inclined to think it's the pump's internal pressure switch acting up and/or some check valve leak. Under full pressure with a tap open my pump is starting to lope instead of constant pressure. I think my pump may be failing. Maybe some additional symptoms to look out for.

We have had 3 Airstreams and several pumps replaced over the years. They all would occasionally cycle, and no apparent leaks. A couple of years ago a tech at JC put a pressure gauge on my city water connection, outside the trailer, and set it at 60 psi.(I think it was 60). After a couple of hours it was holding pressure, and he said that meant there was not a leak in the system. The other tech working on my trailer said his trailer pump does the same thing, occasionally. I still don't like it when my pump cycles for no apparent reason, and I still check for leaks periodically.

We turn the pump OFF when not in use. You should always turn the pump off when on the road and even when you are not in the coach.
