Question ? about sconce lights in 59 traveler

Hi all,

I've got 2 original (?) sconce lights above our dinette with no shades. Is there a resource for finding vintage shades, or is someone making reproductions? What are they supposed to look like? I'd consider making a couple if I knew...

i'm working on the same trailer! nice to see another 59 traveller out there. mine was a basket case when i got it, though... so i'm redoing it MY way, as there was nothing really left to preserve! here's my story:

Side Lamps

Here's a couple of shots of my original fixtures however I had them chromed several years ago. The close up should allow you to see the design/pattern in the diffusion material. I've been looking for a suitable replacement as well and haven't found anything better than what I already have, even with the stains.

man, those look sharp! i know we could find a supplier of aluminum or stainless sheets with those holes in them. just where... we could always buy a couple of after-market bling bling grill covers for a for, and salvage the material! haha!

Thanks all, for your input. Flyfshr, those sconces are great! And www.moonshineshades.com wow, beautiful. I'll try to get a photo posted of the sconce so you all can see what we've got.

Here are some other original wall sconces. I don't care for them much. From a '59 Tradewind.

The material is a thin film with white glass fibers, and gold stars, circles and hexagons.

markdoane,

Thanks, but I don't need the whole sconce, just a shade. Here's a picture of what I've got. Any ideas?

Yes, I have an idea. I have one of those covers I believe. Let me check and then send a photo of what I've got.

Here's a couple shots of the one cover I have without its shade. I've had it so long, I forgot where I picked this one up and it never did have a shade. The close up shows the four tabs that go into the base you have and you can also see the catch that is in each of the four corners to hold the lens in place. I have been combing garage sales and junk shops for an old lamp shade that I could cut up to find a suitable replacement lens material. Haven't had any luck so far.

Mark are you crazy! Those sconces are beautiful. To bad they don't fit in our trailer.
