A lady in England is doing what?

Hi gang, I met another airstreamer the other day and we were doing a quick chat about our Airstreams...I mentioned our 70 model and he started talking about a lady from England who was buying up vintage Airstreams because they are ten feet wide. And the newer models were wider and were not allowed on the roads over in her area....
Has anyone heard anything like this going on?

10 feet wide? Vintage AS are 8' wide as opposed to newer ones, which are 8.5' wide.

And Argosy minuets are 7.5 feet wide.

Current manufacturing - if it's less than 25 feet, it's 8 feet wide. 25+ are widebody at 8.5 feet. And Airstream manufactures the "sport" editions - initially designed for europe - and their narrower country lanes, also 7.5 feet wide. They are popular now domestically.

A lot of folks seem to be downsizing in the US. I'm noticing a lot more "egg trailers" in camps lately. Casitas, etc. are also narrow and short.
