'97 legend. Best Gasket & sealant for shower door frame ?

Wondering if rubber butyl tape or silicone II bath/caulk is better

I happen to e a butyl tape man myself. I've leaned that silicone is nothing more than a gasket. I am not familiar with silicone II and it's properties.

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

Not sure if your 'frame' is the same as our Classic, but....our plastic frame separated from the wall on our second trip. OEM double sided tape.

After many attempts with many different 'sealants' with no luck I tried a boating fix. Epoxy resin mixed with wood flour, (very fine hardwood sawdust).
I wedged lengths of 2"x2" moldings across the opening to hold in place until cured.
I used white polyurethane sealer on the sill.
That was done eight years ago...still solid.

Thanks - Our frame is plated aluminum. Shower is fiberglass or similar
