Are '86's wider than '76's?

My husband thinks our '86 Sovereign is wider than our former '76 Overlander was. Just wondering if, in fact, it is?

I hate meaningless replys like the one I am about to make but...
I didn't think they were. I have owned a 78, 04 and now my 86. But my 86 certainly looks wider outside than my 78 and inside I can't notice a difference. It is also much heavier than my 78 but really isn't any different. So good question.

Guess it might be cool to say it is a wide body.

My '77 Excella 500 31' and my '86 Sovereign 25' were the same width. The 8'6" wide body did not appear until the latter part of '94 or early '95.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think they were different, but it always helps to have some back-up from the experts! I guess the extra 4 feet makes it feel alot roomier!
