Hey all, just bought a 26' Overlander and while trying to find the original floorplans online, I stumbled across this forum.
The Overlander that we bought is completely gutted in the front. The previous owner took out the couch/bed in the lounge area to build a desk and shelves of sorts so he had a place to work, but now we are trying to renovate it and use it as a guest house.
We are looking for any floor plans that could give us an idea of the size and placement of the furniture in the lounge area. Also, we are tearing out the carpet and hoping to put in a custom (and probably hand made because we are cheap...) wood flooring. If any of you have experience in that, we would love to hear it! (And see pictures )
Good link, TWind, and sorry, Silver, for any inconvenience. I'll try to post some pictures on the Overlander forum this evening and I'll try to include the owner's manual floor plan link.
Haileymm99 let me know if you need anything on the 66, still have some 66 overlander parts laying around, not much but a few bins, some black tank parts I think. Also have a number of interior photos on the OL with the interior skin off if you need them for reference.
As far far as flooring I'd go with a floating laminate floor, cheap, "temporary" in other words easy to remove if its damaged, and holds up well to camping messes, dirty shoes etc.
roof locker tracks (plastic) square cornered astrodome screen 63 refer, or at least the original door insert 2 12v hehr motors (working) w/ or w/o fan blade
Goransons, thanks for the offer. I will definately let you know if I need any parts.
I'll have to check on the laminate at costco, great idea. I have images of grandeur where I design and make my own beautiful wooden floor with some really cool design and then I remember that I'm not very good at that kind of stuff, so I'll definately need something relatively easy.
Welcome to the Forum. The Overlander is a nice size with plenty of room up front. Have you considered dumping the front couch and replacing it with a dinette? A number of members here have done the conversion and really like the added versatility. This is my "A" list project this winter. You’re starting with a clean slate anyway. Here is one that was very nicely done. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f38/70s-goucho-question-55564-2.html Scroll down to post #22. Do a quick search to see if anything else grabs you.
Good luck, Tom.

We just picked it up yesterday and I am soo excited. One thing I do need to amend is that this is actually a 65 Ambassader, not a 66 Overlander. I'm a n00b, so forgive me, but I still love it.

Your not a noob... Life would be a boring place if you didn't learn something new on a daily basis. Can you post it's serial number? It's on the plaque to the right as you enter the door. 65Ambassador. Don't forget to change your "new" trailer in your profile.
