'62 GT original light cover redo

I want to strip and repaint the interior light covers. They have a rice paper like on the inside. What do I use to replace this paper and keep the original look and safety. Thank you

lights

Hmmmm... The paper was gone on my 62 GT lights when I got her but what about stopping by a light supplier like Living Lighting, or an electrical/plumbing specialty shop (not big box) and asking about lamp shade fabric possibilities. There has to be some kind of material that is rated to handle the heat. However that would not be an issue if you switched to LED light bulbs, they are much cooler, so you could use an easily available material.

Someday59 posted a picture and link to Moon Shine Shades in their blog. Is that the light fixture you're talking about?

Thanks for your input, flygrrl and 65CV, I have been thinking of LEDs and visiting lamp shops to see what they can offer. I do want to keep her as original as possible. I just thought maybe some one had already figured the material mystery.
