'55 flying cloud painted interior

I've started gutting the fc. and came to the conclusion to completely gut it..The original interior(a flecked green wrinkle type), strato something right?is primed and horribly painted over. Is there any friendly way to strip in paint and leave the original coating? And, is it possible to completely strip the interior and plish that?..Big job keeps getting bigger....

It is possible to strip all of the paint including the original Zolotone. Try a product called Aircraft Stripoper. A word of CAUTION though, this stuff is nasty. Use it in a well ventilated area. If I sound cautious it because we used it on ours. We decided against polishing the interior after seeing the endcap all shiny. It was just too busy.
