The first year or two had no belly wrap. There was a membrane between the frame and floor. But worse -- they had an OSB floor that has proven to be very undesirable due to severe rot issues. Anybody? How long did those last? What years?
Our first Airstream was a 2005 22' CCD. I have to admit that today I would more likely purchase the 23' Sport. It's rear bath is more usable and it would be easier to tow with a small vehicle.
Further, there were some frame problems with some 22 footers and it may be hard to find out if Airstream ever resolved them before they ceased production of that model.

I have to say I'm very happy with my 2004 22' CCD. The floorplan works for us.
With alot of concern about tire failures on Airstreams, I'm comforted with the extra axle. At a load rating of 1850# per tire and 7400# total, and a max. trailer load for the 22' (5600# - 650# tongue wt. = 4950#), this gives me a pretty good safety factor (1.5).
