Just got back from the first trip out with the 2007 25'Classic. 2000 miles round trip for a week at Disney's Fort Wilderness.I just couldn't believe how bad the twin beds are.I think the floor may have been better. Has anyone replaced their twins with a quality real mattress? For as much as this thing cost would it be too much to ask of Airstream to at least offer as an option something that you can really sleep ( key word "Sleep") on? They can't be paying more than $30.00 bucks each for these things.Oh- and how about one set of sheets. I know, that is too much to ask.

We added a memory foam mattress pad to our twins and I find it to be okay. The fact that any mattress is bigger than the platform is a PITA -- I sit on the edge, the pad moves and I growl...

XL college dorm length twin sheets fit these mattresses without modification. JC Penneys is a good source for XL percale & flannel sheets. Our daughter got us some of the Target Nick & Nora flamingo sheets -- I guess XL too because they sure fit well. We don't modify for the rounded top corner. I don't like the blinds because they're so easy to hit.

Search the forums on Bear Beds to read about inflatable custom mattresses. Some people speak about local mattress factories being able to make countour end mattresses like this.

Most RV matresses are horrible. I put a 2 inch memory form topper on mine and it made it quite comfortable.

We did the memory foam thing also. Made our queen better than home. We are at the tail end of a 40 Airstream trip, and we are still sleeping great.

Me too, covered up the joints in our fold down cushions. Can't feel them at all and I sleep like a baby. (One that sleeps all night!)

When we re-did our '06 AS from queen to twins we gave away the queen mattress. (no loss)

The new twins are custom cut 5 inch foam. Just took a pattern to the foam shop and had them cut on site. Remember foam on plywood is a little bit firmer so get it softer than normal. The beds are firm and comfortable.

Try it you might like it...

Good idea! The drop down doors sure are hindered by so many things! Bed coverings, shoes, ankles, etc. And they have to be fully opened to access the bin.
