1976 Argosy Original Rear Bathroom Mirror Replacement
Hello all,
I purchased my Argosy without a mirror in the Bath. I wanted to know if anyone has any thoughts on where to acquire a new mirror to replace it with? Most mirrors I have seen are either too heavy to hang or too cheapo. I am open to the idea of getting rid of the shelf and just adding in an aftermarket mirror of some sort...

I may be able to help you out, if it uses the same mirror that a '74 did. I bought a parts trailer for my new project. I am not 100% certain that the mirror is undamaged, but I'll know after tomorrow. If memory serves, the glass is good but one of the support arms is bent. I suspect it can be straightened and used. Shipping the sucker might cost more than coming up with another solution, though... it's about 3' long.

That would be great! Maybe I can make a trip that way later in the year. Would you be willing to hang onto it for me?

Shouldn't be a problem, assuming it's in usable condition. I don't think mirrors are in huge demand, and the center-bath project trailer has a different setup and a usable mirror.
Long way to go for a mirror... hopefully you're talking about a trip for the trip's sake.

Oh yeah. I travel cross country at least once a year. No reason I couldn't swing down that way. I have never been anyway...

Do you still have that mirror? I live in Fort Worth, and would be interested in it. Thanks

You'd have to get crabbey1 to agree, I promised it to him and he said he's eventually coming through the area and will fetch it. You might want to make sure it's the right size/shape for your Minuet, as well. I know it's right for a "standard" Argosy rear-bath '74 or '75, but I don't know the dimensions of other years/models.

I have one out of my 74 Argosy 28'
If you look at the back of the picture and zoom in. it's there.
If you are interested, I can take better pic's and measurements.

I'm not sure about the size. I'll get the guy who's doing work on it to measure. Thanks for the post.

Hey DKB, if someone wants it, they can have it. I don't want to hold you up. Who knows when I am gonna make it down to Texas next, so first come first serve... Thanks though for holding it.

Hah! I had *just* sent you a PM about it. Now we'll see if it's the right dimensions for a Minuet for glovedahl I guess!

Hey, DBK...... The mirror is 12-3/4" x 35-3/4. Is that size of the one you have? Thanks, Jerry

My mirror is 12-1/2" x 38-3/4. The base is 48" long and 4-1/2" deep to house the window shade. The mirror hinges up to be use as a medicine cabinet.
It came out of my 1974 28' argosy.

Man, I am getting jealous of these mirrors. In particular the storage area...

Those pictures of your mirror are just what I have been wondering about my trailer. All I have above my bathroom window are 2 holes, one on either side, above where the mirror would be. Is yours mounted with one screw one each side? Has anyone heard of an aftermarket replacement?

If you look at the back of mine, the two angle brackets (holes aprox 30" apart) and the holes in the bottom rail is what held it to the wall.
It is for sale.

I may be a little late to the party here, but I'm removing the mirror from my 1977 Argosy 22 if anyone is still looking. I'm a tall guy and the only thing less useful than seeing my top buttons is trying to open that cabinet it up with me in the bathroom. If either of the Fort Worth folks is still looking, I'm in Dallas.

Mine fell off on a bumpy dirt road
They are very heavy. It's too bad that the mirror broke, but I didn't want to put it back on anyway. I think it would have damaged the interior end cap eventually
